Financial support for the Du sport en plus program

This central component of the Du sport en plus program aims to reduce the barriers to participation in associative sports for young people from low-income families in the East End of Montreal. The financial support offered to young people aged 12 to 17 in the East End of Montreal is $275 in 2024.

Eligibility criteria for financial support

- The participant is aged between 12 and 17 (at the time of registration)

- The participant must reside east of Pie-IX Boulevard;

- The participant must join a club or sports association affiliated with the Du sport en plus program (list of clubs below).

- The participant's family must be below the sustainable income threshold based on the number of people living at their address. *

- The participant is entitled to one grant per year. A family with more than one child is entitled to one grant per young person per year.

 

*The calculation of sustainable income is a measure of the Institut de recherche et d'informations socioéconomiques (IRIS). At the request of the Conseil du sport de Montréal, IRIS calculated the following thresholds specifically for the region

    (Annual family income under $41,692)
  • 1 adult + 2 children
    (Annual family income under $50,604)
  • 1 adult + 3 children
    (Annual family income under $70,895)
  • 1 adult + 4 or more children
    (Annual family income under $81,132)
  • 2 adults + 1 child
    (Annual family income under $62,787)
  • 2 adults + 2 children
    (Annual family income under $65,033)
  • 2 adults + 3 children
    (Annual family income under $73,940)
  • 2 adults + 4 or more children
    (Annual family income under $93,017)
