The Gala Podium Montréal, formerly known as the Soirée des Lauréats montréalais, is an event organized by the Conseil du sport de Montréal to recognize and celebrate the players in the sports community on the island of Montreal. This initiative honors athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and organizations from the city's sporting community, among others.
The origins of the Soirée des Lauréats
Established in 1986, the Soirée des Lauréats montréalais has since been organized by the Commission sportive de Montréal, up to and including the 2017 edition. With the closing of the Commission on October 25, 2018, this organization has bequeathed the Soirée des Lauréats montréalais program to the Conseil du sport de Montréal.
Where do the winners come from?
This event brings together all the players in organized sport on the island of Montreal. Most of them come from clubs and regional sports associations, recognized by their respective sports federations, spread across the three sports territories of the Jeux du Québec: Bourassa, Lac-Saint-Louis and Montreal, as well as from all the boroughs of the City of Montreal and related cities.
