History of the Gala Podium Montréal

The Gala Podium Montréal, formerly known as the Soirée des Lauréats montréalais, is an event organized by the Conseil du sport de Montréal that aims to recognize and celebrate key figures in the sports community on the Island of Montréal. This initiative seeks to honor, among others, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and organizations within the city’s sports community.

The Origins of the Winners' Gala

Established in 1986, the Montreal Awards Night was organized by the Montreal Sports Commission through the 2017 edition. It should be noted that, following the Commission’s closure on October 25, 2018, the organization transferred the Montreal Awards Night program to the Montreal Sports Council.

Where are the winners from?

This event brings together all stakeholders in organized sports on the Island of Montreal. Most of them come from regional sports clubs and associations recognized by their respective sports federations, located across the three sports regions of the Quebec Games—Bourassa, Lac-Saint-Louis, and Montreal—as well as all boroughs of the City of Montreal and surrounding towns.

2022 Edition of the Podium Montréal Gala

At the 2022 event, Joel Anthony graced us with his presence.

The two-time NBA champion and general manager of the Montreal Alliance of the ECBL honored us with his presence at the annual awards ceremony for Montreal’s sports community!
