Vote for Sports Personality of the Year!
As part of the Podium Montréal Gala to be held on November 20, a jury of experts has elected a number of Montreal sports personalities who have distinguished themselves through their performance, commitment or influence. It's now up to you, Montrealers, to choose THE personality of the year who has made the biggest impact on sports in our city.
Voting deadline: November 6, 11:00 p.m.
Luguentz Dort - Basketball
A native of Montréal-Nord, Luguentz Dort took part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, helping lead Team Canada to the quarter-finals. A few months later, he played a key role in winning the franchise's first-ever NBA title, for which he has been playing since 2019. Undrafted when he entered the league, he was also selected to the NBA's first All-Star Defensive Team, crowning an exceptional season.
Annie Larouche - President of Les Roses de Montréal
Annie Larouche brilliantly orchestrated the development of Montreal's first professional women's soccer club. A visionary and rallying force, she assembled a group of seasoned investors and firmly positioned the team in the Montreal sports landscape. Under her guidance, the Roses made it to the Northern Super League playoffs in their very first season, marking a historic milestone for women's soccer.
Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh - Ice field hockey
Montreal Canadiens striker Patrik Laine and his partner Jordan Leigh struck a blow for mental health in sport. At the M.A.D. Festival, an event celebrating self-expression, they brought together several Montreal athletes to break down the taboos surrounding psychological health. This initiative is a continuation of their "From Us to You" campaign, launched in August 2024, which aims to raise awareness and support athletes in their mental well-being.
The winner will be revealed during the evening of the Gala Podium MontréalGala evening on November 20.
