Vote for the sports personality of the year!
As part of the Gala Podium Montréal to be held on November 20, a jury of experts has selected several Montreal sports personalities who have distinguished themselves through their performances, commitment, or influence. Now it's up to you, Montrealers, to decide and elect THE personality of the year who has had the greatest impact on sports in our city.
Voting deadline: November 6 at 11:00 p.m.
Luguentz Dort — Basketball
Originally from Montreal North, Luguentz Dort competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping Team Canada reach the quarterfinals. A few months later, he played a key role in winning the first-ever NBA title for the franchise he has played for since 2019. Undrafted when he entered the league, he was also selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team, capping off an exceptional season.
Annie Larouche — President of Les Roses de Montréal
Annie Larouche brilliantly orchestrated the development of Montreal's first professional women's soccer club. A visionary and unifier, she assembled a group of seasoned investors and firmly positioned the team in Montreal's sporting landscape. Under her leadership, the Roses participated in the Northern Super League playoffs in their very first season, marking a historic milestone for women's soccer.
Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh — Ice hockey
Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine, known for his powerful shot, and his partner Jordan Leigh have made a big impact on mental health in sports. At the M.A.D. Festival, an event celebrating self-expression, they brought together and paraded several Montreal athletes to break the taboos surrounding mental health. This initiative is a continuation of their "From Us to You" campaign, launched in August 2024, which aims to raise awareness and support athletes in their mental well-being.
The winner will be announced during the Montreal Podium Galaon November 20.
