Starting in September, the Conseil de sport de Montréal will be hosting their new program, Rendez-vous entraîneur-e-s Montréal, in partnership with the Montréal physiquement active network.

Created by Stéphanie Poirier, Coach and Environment Development Consultant, in collaboration with Montréal Physiquement Active, this program is aimed at coaches and sports professionals who wish to develop their coaching skills.

" It's a social learning activity. It's not like a university course. It's more in the form of discussion, workshop and exchange," says Stéphanie Poirier, Coach and Environment Development Advisor.

Rendez-vous entraîneur-e-s Montréal is aimed at coaches, volunteers, salaried employees and sports professionals working with athletes aged 6 to 17. They must come from a regional sports association and their member sports clubs, a Sport-études program, an extracurricular team or be involved in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) in the Montreal region.

With the help of experts, the Conseil de sport de Montréal plans two to three meetings to explore subjects or themes that are not related to the technical-tactical aspect of the sport. Stéphanie Poirier would like to see areas such as communication, intervention and the environment addressed.

" We're here to help them develop their coaching in all areas that aren't specific to sport, based on the needs they themselves identify in their practice," says consultant Stéphanie Poirier.

Given that other programs such as the LAB entraîneur-e-s, the club des entraîneur-e-s or individual coach support do not have the same objectives, the Rendez-vous entraîneur-e-s was built with a view to diversifying the programs already on offer.
