International athlete

An athlete who practices a sport in one or more individual or team disciplines, and who has distinguished himself/herself through performances on the international scene. This category comprises 4 (four) finalists, including at least one finalist in team sports.

International parasport athlete

An athlete who practises a parasport in one or more individual or team sporting disciplines and who has achieved outstanding performances on the international scene.

Rising star athlete

Athlete identified at the Relève or Élite level by his or her provincial sports federation or in categories deemed equivalent by the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) who has distinguished himself or herself and who practices a sport in one or more individual or team disciplines and who has never been and is not carded Senior (Sr1/Sr2, Sr) or C1 (1st year Senior card).

Quebec Games athletes

Athlete who has taken part in the Quebec Games Provincial Finals in an individual or team sport discipline and has distinguished himself/herself. One winner will be selected for each of the three (3) Montreal Island delegations (Montreal, Bourassa, Lac-Saint-Louis).

Emerging team

Team practicing a team sport and whose members are 18 years of age or under. The team must train mainly on the Island of Montreal and represent a club, association or educational institution from the Island of Montreal region or a sub-region thereof.

Outstanding coach. A group of coaches may be nominated if they are co-coaches of the same athlete or group of athletes.

Builder - Bernard Trottier Award

A person recognized for his or her exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of sport, and who has made a major difference through his or her commitment. A person who has distinguished himself/herself by his/her actions and proposed improvements for the advancement of the sport for at least the last ten (10) years.

Sports personality of the year

Over the course of the year, a sports personality has been selected and put forward each month by a jury. In the end, 12 personalities will be presented, and a popular vote will determine the personality of the year.
