FC Anjou

The history of FC Anjou began in 1982. Forty-one years of hard work. It shows. The club’s rise has been impressive, motivation is growing, and the challenges keep piling up. It’s simple. FC Anjou is THE soccer club in the borough, and it’s becoming an increasingly prominent presence in the neighborhood.

An ambitious club with many teams.

With a long history behind it, FC Anjou now has 800 members playing for the club. From 4 to over 50 years old, soccer is a hit. Several membership packages are available to ensure there’s something for everyone.

“We offer everything from recreational packages to highly competitive ones; we believe that any reason is a good reason to play soccer,” explains André Thomas, technical director.

On the fields at Roger Rousseau, Lucie Bruneau, Goncourt, and Talcy parks, FC Anjou is working to promote soccer in the borough. The club also offers competitive programs for the most dedicated players. “Our club is currently recognized as a regional-level club by Soccer Québec, which means it is eligible to field LDIR-level teams (formerly AA). Our goal is to reach the provincial level within the club recognition program,” says Mr. Thomas.

This is how the various teams, competing at different levels, make this club an ambitious one that is deeply committed to its neighborhood and its residents. At Anjou, everyone can participate, learn, and have fun playing soccer. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

FC Anjou puts the player first, creating a stress-free environment for their development. Strong values and a great philosophy await you as you learn the art of soccer.

A club with many initiatives.

“Ambitious”—that’s how the club describes itself. Is that true?
For over 40 years, FC Anjou has been spreading its wings. Today, the club continues to work hard, and there is no shortage of projects.
In addition to reaching the provincial level, André Thomas and all the club members are on a mission.

“We want to become a key social player in the Anjou district of
. We’re going to foster a strong sense of community that will make us even more appealing,” explains the enthusiastic technical director.

FC Anjou aims to expand its activities, particularly through partnerships with local organizations such as elementary schools. An after-school futsal program already in place proved to be a great success during the 2022–2023 school year at Cardinal Léger Elementary School.

To top it all off, a summer soccer day camp is currently being set up.
Significant effort is therefore required to establish the club and foster a passion for soccer. FC Anjou is committed to making this happen. Through its participation in the “Du Sport en plus” program and its parallel initiatives, the club aims to become “an ambitious, inclusive soccer community offering services tailored to as many people as possible.”

Technical Director André Thomas is dedicated to FC Anjou and passionate about his work because he wants to give the local community what he himself would have liked to have had when he first arrived. He also reflects on and shares his vision and ideas for enhancing Montreal’s appeal as a sports destination and providing the best possible welcome to newcomers who are passionate about sports.

If you love sports, soccer, and a good challenge, FC Anjou welcomes you!
