Ismaël Koné made his European debut as a soccer player for Watford in the FA Cup.

Caroline Côté broke the speed record for skiing between Hercules Inlet and the South Pole, and won the Shackleton Award alongside her partner for their winter crossing of Svalbard in 2021.

Dick Pound, former president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, concluded a 44-year tenure with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on December 31, 2022.
March
Speed skater Kim Boutin distinguished herself by winning gold medals in the 1,000-meter and 3,000-meter relay events and a silver medal in the 500-meter event at the World Cup held in the Netherlands.

Earlier this year, Marie-Ève Dicaire decided to retire from boxing after more than 20 professional fights and two world titles in the super welterweight division.

Raphaëlle Tousignant, a para-hockey athlete, has become the first woman to join the mixed para-hockey team for the Para-Hockey World Championship in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Diver Pamela Ware won the gold medal in the 3-meter event at the Canadian Diving Championships in Toronto, setting a personal best in the process.

Montreal basketball player Olivier-Maxence Prosper was selected 24th overall by the Sacramento Kings of the NBA.

Swimmer Mary-Sophie Harvey won the bronze medal at the World Swimming Championships, held in Fukuoka, Japan.

Mathieu Choinière, a soccer player for CF Montréal, scored his first career brace in Major League Soccer.

Danièle Sauvageau has been named general manager of the Montreal team in the new Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF).
