In a sense, Frédérik Laberge was already a long-time collaborator with the Montreal Sports Council, having served as a kinesiologist and strength and conditioning coach at the training facility operated by Actiforme, a leading partner in the development of Montreal athletes.
With many years of experience in the Montreal and Quebec sports scene, Frédérik served as coordinator for Quebec’s snowboard teams. He has also served as a strength and conditioning coach for several professional athletes, including boxer Kim Clavel.
Known and recognized for his dynamism and understanding of the challenges athletes face, he will officially assume the role of coordinator and manager of initiatives within Montreal’s Excellence sportive division starting February 6.
“It is a great pleasure to welcome Frédérik Laberge back as the head of athlete and team services. He is known to most of our athletes and is accustomed to working specifically with this group, having previously served in a temporary capacity with us just two years ago.
He understands the concerns and daily lives of emerging and/or elite-level athletes, and Frédérik’s integration into our Montreal Sports Excellence division will be all the smoother for it.” says Laurier Thériault, Executive Director of the Montreal Sports Council.
Providing high-quality support to teams, coaches, and athletes—whether or not they are supported by Excellence sportive de Montréal—is a key priority for the Sports Council.
The addition of Frédérik Laberge allows us to continue pursuing this goal of developing and promoting organized sports in Montreal.
The Sports Council would also like to acknowledge the valuable legacy that Caroline Calvé leaves to her successor.
