The sacrifices and years of hard work of adopted Montrealer Caeli McKay and 9 other Canadian team athletes were highlighted at Montreal's Olympic Park. The Calgary-born athlete was proud to dive and share her talent in front of her home crowd.

From May 5 to 7, 2023, 117 divers from 21 different nations were on hand at the Olympic Park to showcase their achievements and moves, for the second stage of the Diving World Cup. Audiences and athletes alike enjoyed watching 9 different finals!

To host this prestigious event, Diving Plongeon Canada took charge of the organization, and everything came together to put the spotlight on this multi-talented sport. As the host city between China and Germany, Montreal had nothing to be ashamed of in terms of organization.

As Caeli McKay confided to us, " this organisation is amazing. Canada does a really good job hosting this kind of event and we obviously know how the bring in a crowd "this organization is amazing. Canada does a really good job hosting this kind of event and we obviously know how the bring in a crowd.)

At the age of 16, the now 23-year-old left her native Alberta and her family, friends and landmarks to come and train in Montreal. Her motivation and sacrifices were appreciated by the large audience. To her great delight, Caeli McKay had the chance to dive in front of her family, who came to Montreal especially for her!

The Canadian athlete returned to competition in her own pool following surgery last October. She thus reinforced her experience and shared this competition with her Canadian team-mates.

" I think this event is one of the best events we will attend ever other than the Olympics and few other games "I think this event is one of the best events we will attend ever other than the Olympics and few other games.

It was a particularly successful weekend for the Canadian team! An honourable 5th place for Caeli McKay in the 10-metre platform final, but also plenty of great achievements for the other athletes.

The Vallée - Ware duo won a fine bronze medal in the women's 3-metre synchro event, while Nathan ZSOMBOR MURRAY took 3rd place in the 10-metre high-flying event. Ware also won an individual silver medal (3-meter), and the Canadian mixed team also took second place.
